Native Bankside on Bear Gardens sees the transformation of this dilapidated beautiful brick 18th Century tea warehouse, into a spectacular aparthotel offering 75 studio, one and two bedroom apartments. Minutes from the Shakespeare Globe, Borough Market and St Paul’s Cathedral, this is our flagship London aparthotel. The building is the first ever BREEAM excellent rated aparthotel in the UK offering a substantially reduced emission allocation to the increasing number of our corporate clients tracking their carbon emissions through the Carbon Disclosure Project.
The building was originally owned by The Crown Estates in 2015 and following a Christie’s run tender process we were appointed reflecting the considerable investment in time with the developer, Create REIT, getting to know the building and developing an achievable vision.
The Native business analyst team undertook a full benchmarking and business modelling process to get under the skin of Empire Warehouse and the Bear Gardens location to understand how this unique building should be positioned in the aparthotel market.
We worked very closely with the architects, SPPARC, in the design phase to optimise the configuration, the number of units, provision of amenities and operational management space in order to maximise the building’s potential.
Close involvement in the FF&E layout throughout the design period has made use of our extensive knowledge of interior design and unit optimisation to provide a best-in-class customer centric destination.
Our aim is to create one of the leading aparthotels in London, perfectly demonstrating how a sympathetic conversion can be successfully completed to produce a stunning property that will be popular with both the corporate market as well as leisure travelers.
We have appointed a local PR agency to help us launch the property and get us on the radar of the key local, national and international influencers in the travel space. We are developing partnerships with key local food and beverage and cultural destinations to position us as a top-end accommodation option on the Southbank.
