Tired of extended stays in hotels as an investment banker, entrepreneur Guy Nixon founded Native in 1998. The proposition was to offer extended stay travellers all the benefits of apartment living coupled with the service and flexibility of a hotel. Giving guests an authentic taste of life lived as a Native was central to the brand proposition.
Today, Native has become one of the largest operators of aparthotels with current and pipeline buildings ranging from 11 to 183 apartments in most of the major cities in the UK including London, Manchester, Birmingham, Leeds and Glasgow.
We delight in breathing new life into the restoration and refurbishment of historic city centre buildings as well as helping to thoughtfully craft the new. That their design reflects the character and history of each of our buildings and their diverse city centre locations continues to be at the core of our Native brand proposition.
This approach enables us to provide our corporate and leisure guests with a boutique quality of accommodation experience with all of the benefits and consistency of an upscale branded management platform.
Where space permits, we partner with specialist F&B operators to work alongside our aparthotel offering, providing guests and local communities with best-in-class restaurant, co-working and fitness facilities. Working with our F&B partners, we co-create vibrant, beautifully designed multi-function spaces that bring energy and style to the street level of our buildings.
In 2012 Native made its first move into the UK’s emerging B2R market with the launch of a 298 apartment building in Ilford. The move was driven by strong demand from corporate clients for longer term housing that enabled Native to deliver net investor returns 10% ahead of market.
Working with a range of institutional and private equity investors, we have over 2,500 B2R apartments across the UK operating and in our development pipeline. We apply the same focus on design, service, operational efficiency and revenue management to B2R assets as we do to aparthotels. This unique approach has been core to our ability to consistently drive strong investor returns.
